iPad vs iPad 2 vs iPad 3 – This is a full review with the advantages, disadvantages, and pricing for each of Apples tablets.

iPad-1-vs-iPad-2-vs-iPad-3-Specs-Compared

This review will go over the pros, cons, and reasons to buy each iPad.  The older version of the iPad is still valuable and works great however it is a slight bit slower.  This also is the same difference between the iPad 1, and iPad 2, and then the NEW iPad (3).  The newest iPad starts at $499.99 from http://www.Apple.com, and features higher resolution screen, better graphics, and improved all around speed and performance.

Apple iPad 1 (1st generation)

Summary:  This iPad is the first Apple iPad made, and the quality is very high.  It is much thicker then the other iPad’s that Apple has made, but the design is still much nicer then the recent tablets by other companies today.  This iPad 1st generation does have better battery life then the iPad 2, and the iPad 3, however the speed is worth the upgrade for the iPad 2, and especially the newest model, the iPad 3.  For the price and battery life if your looking for something to do less graphical intensive tasks and want a cheaper $$ price tag, the 1st gen. iPad is the one for you!

Apple iPad 2 (2nd generation)

Summary:  The second generation iPad has thew same resolution on the screen as the iPad 1, however the color on the LCD screen is better, and easier on the eyes.  However the battery life is a little less then the original iPad 1st generation.  The biggest difference is the speed is MUCH faster.  The other graphically noticeable difference is the edge profile and thickness is profoundly thin!  There is no iPad to date that is thinner, and no tablet yet to beat its thin profile.  This iPad 2 is a great buy if your want a thin responsive and elegant solution to graphic intensive gaming and a better thin “look”.  It is very nice!

Apple iPad 3 (3rd generation)

Summary:  The iPad is a digital marvel!  The screen resolution is absolutely amazing!  The retina display is the same one that is on the iPhone 4, and 4S.  Its just a lot bigger.  In fact many times the iPad 3 displays some items and they don’t look as good, because the iPad 3 is such a high resolution that normal images and graphics appear jagged.  This isn’t a problem though.  The iPad 3 is a small bit thicker and not very noticeable, but something to note.  The original iPad 2 cases won’t fit well on this iPad 3.  In a overall summary, I would say that the iPad is worth the buy just because of the amazing resolution.  Not only that but the speed itself is worth upgrading for!

July 2012 Price: $499-$899 depending on the model & series.

Technical Upgrades Over Other iPads:

  • 2048 by 1536 pixels HD screen
  • IOS 5 Upgradable / Jailbreakable
  • Dual-Core A5X processor
  • Better graphics Processing
  • Longer Battery Life
  • Wi-Fi only model and a Wi-Fi + Cellular model.
  • Tests with GLBenchmark 2.1.2 show how fast it is compared to other competing tablets!  The iPad 3 is MUCH faster as you can see and worth the buy.

Conclusion of the iPad 1 vs iPad 2 vs iPad 3 review specs and price.

The iPad 1 is the cheapest.  Buy this model if your looking for an excellent buy for the dollar.  Find a good deal on eBay or pick one up from a DeviceFlip.com rep.  If your wanting something a little thinner and more portable and better speed quality go with the iPad 2.  The iPad 2 has an amazing battery life and still holds water as the best tablet for the price.  And if your wanting to spend retail to get the best screen, speed, and all over tablet on the market, simply settle for the iPad 3!  You won’t ever be sorry you settled with the iPad 3.  Its the best tablet today.  All other android tablets are thicker, and don’t offer the elegant “Apple Like” touch, and simple, clean, and thin edges.  We would vote you buy an iPad 3.  If you plan selling your old iPad don’t forget to check out DeviceFlip.com (we buy OLD iPads and tablets for top dollar)
