As crazy as it seems, this could happen. Right after Facebook declared it’s IPO (Intial Public Offering aka stock market launch) , it also released it’s newest data on their ARPU (average revenue per user).
The new data showed a declination in their ARPU due to many of Facebook’s users using the mobile platform instead of desktop.
The problem is Facebook has an inability to monetize it’s mobile platform in the same way or at the same rate as the desktop/laptop platforms. Facebook will likely be able to address this issue and find a solution to this problem, but it will have some hard times ahead.
